Lucky Cookie Holds a Surprise as Golden Melody Award Winner Makav True Love Announces Debut Concert

The surprise inside the lucky cookies was not a slogan or a small gift. It was the announcement of Makav True Love’s first solo concert. The 23-year-old Bunun singer will hold the show, titled “真的愛了,” at Nangang SUB on Jan. 2, with tickets scheduled to go on sale Sept. 9 through INDIEVOX.

Makav, who has won Golden Melody Awards for Best New Artist and Best Indigenous Language Album, recently held a preview event for her second original album, “Greater Waves.” She has graduated from university and entered working life, while continuing to develop her music.

Her producer ABAO and Huang Shao-yung, along with Makav’s mother, attended the event. Makav shared stories behind the album and performed “潛移默化” for the first time. She also introduced “I’m your beloved,” her first attempt at writing lyrics entirely in English.

Another new track, “Let the light in,” grew from a fan’s personal story and prompted Makav to think of her father, who died when she was young. Friends and relatives have told her that he was talented in music and sports, and that he could even outrun elementary school children in a 100-meter race when he was still in kindergarten.
