Luxury development where Lula’s son lives in Spain features spa and zip line

The Madrid residential complex where Fábio Luís Lula da Silva lives has broad gardens, a spa, swimming pools and a 30-meter zip line. Apartments in the development can cost 5,500 euros a month to rent, equivalent to about 32,000 Brazilian reais.

Folha visited an apartment for sale in the same complex in La Moraleja, an affluent district about 20 minutes from central Madrid. The area is known for mansions associated with Real Madrid players Vini Jr. and Rodrygo, as well as a golf club, an equestrian center and international schools.

The development consists of 13 low-rise buildings divided into three blocks, with 262 apartments. Its amenities include an infinity pool with a lifeguard, three other pools according to property listings, a spa with a sauna and gym, glass aquariums used as coworking or children’s spaces, and an outdoor play area with three slides and a zip line. Green areas cover 39,000 square meters.

The apartment visited by the newspaper measures 240 square meters and has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two parking spaces, a kitchen with an island and a balcony overlooking the pool. Rent, condominium fees and taxes total 5,500 euros a month. The agency also asks for three months in advance, bringing the upfront payment to 22,000 euros. The lawyer suggested that Fábio Luís’ unit costs less and has different entry terms, but declined to provide details.

Fábio Luís, known as Lulinha, is under investigation in three Federal Police inquiries into alleged influence peddling and corruption. The inquiries draw on material from an investigation into suspected diversions involving pensions and retirement benefits. His defense denies wrongdoing. Lula has said that, if his son is involved, he should be investigated. Lulinha had not commented at the time of publication.
