Lykogiannis to AEK – Signs and Joins European List

Greek football club AEK Athens has moved to bolster its defense by signing left-back Babis Lykogiannis. The 32-year-old Greek international joins AEK as a free agent after his contract with Italian club Bologna concluded.

Lykogiannis, who has significant experience playing in Italy for Bologna and previously Cagliari, as well as representing the Greek national team, is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Athens-based club. His signing addresses AEK's need for a left-back following the departure of Enosis Penrais to Rangers.

The club aims for Lykogiannis to provide depth and serve as a backup for current left-back Stavros Pilios. His experience at a high level is seen as a valuable asset for AEK's ambitions.

Furthermore, AEK is eager to integrate Lykogiannis into their squad for upcoming European competitions. He is slated to be registered for the Europa Conference League match against Levski Sofia, replacing Dimitris Kaloskamis on the European list.
