Madayn organises workshop on industrial waste management

Oman's Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), in collaboration with Oman Environmental Services Holding Company “be’ah,” recently hosted a workshop focused on "Industrial Waste Management." The initiative seeks to foster industrial waste recycling and identify best practices and solutions that can unlock investment opportunities, generate economic value, and improve resource efficiency.

The workshop brought together experts, specialists, and investors from the industrial sector to highlight successful strategies and potential investments in managing industrial waste. This event underscores a shared commitment between Madayn and be’ah to advance sustainable development within Oman and to strengthen public-private partnerships.

Through this collaboration, Madayn and be’ah aim to improve the handling and management of industrial waste, aligning with national environmental protection and sustainable development goals. A key objective is to regulate and develop mechanisms for managing industrial and hazardous waste generated from activities within Madayn’s industrial cities.

This workshop is a component of a larger cooperation program between the two entities, designed to establish a comprehensive waste management system across Oman's industrial cities. The program intends to increase recycling rates, reduce landfill waste, bolster environmental compliance among industrial units, ensure adherence to regulations, and decrease carbon emissions through innovative solutions like material and energy recovery from waste. This effort is seen as a significant step toward supporting the circular economy and contributing to sustainable development goals amidst growing global environmental challenges.
