Madrid: Tunisia mobilizes its diaspora around investment and skills

Tunisia is actively engaging its diaspora in Spain to foster economic growth and leverage their skills and capital for national development. A recent forum in Madrid, organized by the Tunisian Embassy, FIPA Tunisia, and the Tunisian National Tourism Office, brought together nearly 120 Tunisian professionals, officials, and business leaders.

The event, which included a videoconference address from the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, highlighted the government's commitment to strengthening ties with its expatriate community. The forum's objective was to promote economic opportunities in Tunisia, particularly among the talented Tunisian community residing in Spain.

Key sessions focused on the success stories of the Tunisian diaspora, the state of economic cooperation between Tunisia and Spain, and the business environment in Tunisia. Sector-specific workshops explored investment prospects in priority areas such as information technology, artificial intelligence, banking services, and higher education. The event also featured a coaching session for Tunisian students, led by professionals from the diaspora, underscoring Tunisia's dedication to harnessing the full potential of its global talent pool.
