Main suspect in Chinese national’s killing arrested in Colombo Port City

The main suspect in the killing of a Chinese national was arrested inside Colombo Port City 43 days after the crime, according to the Colombo Crimes Division. Police said the suspect had been wearing a wig to disguise himself.

The victim was allegedly abducted in a car from Colombo Port City, killed, and covered with kabok stones before the perpetrators fled. Police took the wig worn by the suspect into custody.

Four other Chinese nationals had already been arrested in connection with the case. The investigation began after officers from the Karadana police post in Eheliyagoda found a body inside a dilapidated house on a rambutan-growing property on July 23.

The body had been covered with kabok stones. A suspicious luxury car was found the same day on a road near the Nugadanda temple. Initial inquiries established that the death was a murder and that the victim was Chinese. Further investigation linked the victim to an abduction carried out in Colombo Port City.
