Málaga Premier Padel: Seven New Women's Pairs Debut

The Andalucía Málaga Premier Padel P1 tournament is witnessing the debut of seven new women's doubles pairings, marking a significant reconfiguration of the global padel circuit. Among the newly formed teams is the Spanish duo of Marina Guinart and Alejandra Alonso, seeded seventh, who successfully navigated their opening match.

Guinart and Alonso faced fellow debutantes Vero Virseda and Jimena Velasco, seeded tenth. The match concluded with Guinart and Alonso securing a victory in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3, signaling a strong start for the new partnership.

Other notable new pairings making their tournament debut include the Spanish-Argentine team of Alejandra Salazar and Aranzazu Osoro, the eleventh-seeded Victoria Iglesias and Lorena Rufo, and Marta Talaván and Jessica Castelló. Jana Montes and Marta Barrera also form a new duo. These teams are set to compete in the early rounds of the tournament.

Adding to the excitement, Lucía Sainz will partner with Sofía Saiz. Their first challenge will be a difficult match against Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen, the recent champions from Bordeaux. The tournament, held at the Palacio de Deportes Martín Carpena, continues until July 19.
