Malami inaugurates ADC campaign council in Kebbi

Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has inaugurated a 600-member campaign council for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State. He called for unity, reconciliation, and issue-based politics to prepare for the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Malami, speaking at the inauguration in Kebbi on Wednesday, urged council members to collaborate on building a robust grassroots campaign structure capable of mobilizing support across all 21 local government areas of the state. He emphasized that the council's formation signifies the start of a coordinated effort to disseminate the ADC's message from communities and wards down to polling units.

The campaign council was intentionally designed to reflect Kebbi State's diversity, drawing members from various communities, local government areas, and senatorial districts. Malami cautioned the council members against tribalism, sectionalism, and personal rivalries, warning that internal divisions could jeopardize the party's electoral goals. Under the theme "One ADC, One Campaign," Malami encouraged all candidates and supporters to prioritize the party's collective interests over personal ambitions. He stressed the need for political competition to remain constructive, advising against inflammatory rhetoric, hate speech, and attacks on opponents, noting that relationships within communities should not be damaged by electoral contests.
