Malaysia's Education Ministry allocates RM12.3 million to 123 Perak schools

The Malaysian Ministry of Education (KPM) has allocated RM12.3 million to 123 schools across Perak as part of its School Quality Improvement Initiative. This funding is a key component of the School Reform agenda, aligned with the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2026-2035.

Each of the 123 schools, selected from under 12 District Education Offices (PPD) in Perak and identified as "Inspiration Schools," will receive RM100,000. Salmah Abd. Murad, Deputy Director of the Planning and Education Operations Sector at KPM's Daily School Management Division, announced that the funds are intended to support the implementation of school transformation initiatives.

Each school receives the allocation to support the implementation of school transformation initiatives that focus on improving the quality of teaching and learning, empowering school leadership, teacher professional development, and strengthening student outcomes.

These initiatives focus on enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, empowering school leadership, fostering teacher professional development, and strengthening student outcomes. The program also provides schools with the flexibility to plan and implement interventions tailored to their specific needs and contexts. "This will ultimately strengthen academic aspects, school management, student potential development, and improve the quality of educational service delivery," Salmah stated.

Salmah, representing the Director of KPM's Daily School Management Division, Mohd. Hanafi Samad, presented the letters of allocation at a ceremony held at the Perak State Education Department. She noted that the selection of these schools was a collaborative effort between the State Education Department (JPN) and the PPDs.

To date, the School Quality Improvement Initiative has involved 1,500 schools nationwide. "The implementation of this initiative not only reflects KPM's continuous commitment to empowering the School Reform agenda as a key initiative under the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2026-2035 but also strengthens a high-impact, inclusive, and quality education ecosystem," Salmah added.
