Malaysia to Deport Israeli Citizens Entering the Country, Says PM Anwar Ibrahim

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia has declared that his government will deport any Israeli citizens who enter the country. He emphasized that Malaysia firmly upholds its policy of not recognizing the state of Israel and has no intention of altering this position.

Anwar made these remarks during a press conference on Wednesday (July 16, 2026). He confirmed that all security forces and relevant agencies are conducting a thorough investigation into reports concerning the presence of Israeli nationals in Malaysia. "We are currently investigating, and we will not allow it because we do not recognize Israel. Therefore, the necessary action must be taken. If it is proven that there are Israeli citizens, they will be deported immediately," Anwar stated.

According to the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), the Prime Minister also indicated that all relevant agencies are carrying out investigations. He added that Malaysia's Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, would provide further clarification on the matter. The government's firm stance underscores its long-standing policy regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
