Malaysian badminton pairs set for showdown at Korea Masters quarterfinals

Malaysian badminton duo Aaron Chia and Aaron Tai are set to face fellow Malaysians Tee Kai Wun and Yap Roy King in the quarterfinals of the Korea Masters. This internal clash guarantees at least one Malaysian pair a spot in the semifinals. Chia and Tai secured their quarterfinal berth by defeating Choi Sol Gyu and Goh V Shem in straight games, marking their second consecutive appearance in the last eight of a tournament after the Taiwan Open. Kai Wun and Roy King also advanced smoothly, beating South Korea's Jin Yong and Lee Jong Min. Another Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong and Soh Wooi Yik, progressed by defeating Singapore's Nge Joo Jie and Donovan Willard Wee. They are scheduled to play India's Krishna Prasad Garaga and Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy in their next match. However, Low Hang Yee and Ng Eng Cheong were eliminated by Taiwan's He Zhi Wei and Huang Jui Hsuan. In the men's singles, Cheam June Wei is the sole Malaysian representative in the quarterfinals after defeating China's Dong Tian Yao. Eogene Ewe's run ended against Taiwan's Su Li Yang. The women's doubles pair Cheng Su Hui and Chong Jie Yu also lost their second-round match to Taiwan's Lin Chih Chun and Yang Chu Yun.
