Malaysian Pilot Arrested at Jakarta Airport With Methamphetamine and 70,000 Ecstasy Pills

Authorities at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta have arrested a foreign airline pilot from Malaysia, identified as Mohd Saufi bin Othman (MSO), for allegedly smuggling significant quantities of narcotics. The arrest took place on Tuesday night when joint forces from the National Police's Narcotics Crime Investigation Directorate and Customs officers detected suspicious items in his luggage during screening. Officials reported finding 70,114 ecstasy pills, weighing approximately 25 kilograms, and a small package of methamphetamine weighing 2.7 grams. The pilot reportedly confessed that he was ordered by a drug lord in Malaysia to transport the illicit substances to Jakarta, with a promised payment of 50,000 Malaysian Ringgit. He also admitted to having previously smuggled drugs into Indonesia on two other occasions. Further tests revealed that the pilot had consumed methamphetamine, ecstasy, and cocaine.
