Malie Donn’s ‘The Golden Child’ reaches No. 2 on US Apple Music reggae chart

Malie Donn’s debut album, “The Golden Child,” has climbed to No. 2 on the US Apple Music Reggae Albums chart just one day after its release, placing the Jamaican dancehall artist ahead of Masicka’s “Forever Reign.”

Released on September 4 through VP Records, the 21-track project has also secured Top 10 Apple Music positions in several Caribbean markets. The early chart response adds to the momentum Malie Donn has built with “Holiday,” “Van Cleef” and “Vancleef Pt 2.”

The album traces the experiences that shaped his journey from Spanish Town to Waterford in Portmore. It combines his signature flow with trap-influenced dancehall production while addressing ambition, pressure, lifestyle, relationships and personal growth.
