Maluku Police Ready to Secure President Prabowo's Visit to Masela Block

The Maluku Regional Police have finalized security preparations for President Prabowo Subianto's upcoming visit to the Tanimbar Islands Regency on July 16, 2026. The visit's centerpiece is the groundbreaking ceremony for the Masela Block National Strategic Project (PSN), an initiative deemed vital for bolstering national energy resilience and attracting investor confidence.

Maluku Police Chief Inspector General Dadang Hartanto emphasized that the project's commencement is a strategic moment for Indonesia. "Therefore, we ensure all aspects of the President's visit security are ready and any potential risks can be anticipated early on," Hartanto stated, as quoted by Antara news agency.

Hartanto, alongside the Commander of the XV/Pattimura Military Command Major General Dodi Triwinarto and the Maluku Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), conducted a final inspection of the project site. This review aimed to confirm the readiness of VVIP security, supporting facilities, and inter-agency coordination.

The security plan incorporates a multi-layered defense system, supported by early detection capabilities, risk mapping, and robust coordination with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres), local government, SKK Migas, and PT INPEX Masela Ltd. Personnel have been briefed to perform their duties professionally, responsively, and humanely, adhering to VVIP security standards. "Security is the main foundation for investment. When the security and public order situation is maintained, development can proceed as planned, investor confidence strengthens, jobs are created, and economic benefits can be felt by the community," Hartanto added.
