Maluku Police strengthen maritime security to ensure safety of sea activities

The Maluku Regional Police are bolstering their maritime security capabilities to safeguard all community activities taking place on the water. This initiative includes a direct inspection of the Police Ship (KP) Yudistira-8003 by the Deputy Chief of Maluku Police, Brig. Gen. Pol. Arif Budiman, at the Tantui Fishing Port in Ambon. The inspection focused on the ship's operational readiness, support facilities, and the personnel assigned to it. Budiman stressed that the police fleet's preparedness is crucial for ensuring the Indonesian National Police's presence across Maluku's vast maritime territory, characteristic of an archipelagic province. He highlighted that the readiness of police ships extends beyond operational assets to encompass the personnel's capacity to provide services, protection, and security to the public in these waters. The Deputy Chief underscored the vital role of the KP Yudistira-8003 in supporting police duties, including routine patrols, maintaining public order, and swiftly responding to potential security threats at sea. He also emphasized the necessity of discipline, professionalism, and safety for personnel operating in the maritime domain, noting that effective sea security requires strong synergy and coordination with all relevant stakeholders. The ultimate goal, Budiman stated, is to ensure the community can conduct their marine-based activities, from fishing to inter-island transportation, in a secure and conducive environment.
