Man arrested, 131 drug doses seized in Mexico City property raid

Mexican authorities have arrested a 39-year-old man and seized 131 doses of suspected narcotics following a court-authorized search of a property in Iztapalapa, Mexico City. The operation was conducted by the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) based on citizen tips and surveillance.

Officials identified the property on Jarilla Street in the Buenavista neighborhood as a suspected hub for storing and packaging illicit substances. During the search, officers discovered 81 small plastic bags containing a crystalline solid, a larger bag with the same substance, 30 sealed bags of suspected marijuana, and an additional bag of dried marijuana.

Also found at the scene were a black gram scale and a beige notebook with notations. The arrested man was informed of his rights and, along with the seized items, was transferred to the custody of the Public Ministry for legal proceedings. The property has been sealed and placed under police guard.

While the SSC emphasized that the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty, records indicate he has been arrested three times previously for domestic violence in 2024. The operation was coordinated with the Attorney General's Office (FGJ) and received support from the Mexican Navy (SEMAR) and the National Guard (GN).
