Man arrested after threatening woman and insulting police on Facebook

Bucharest police have detained a 29-year-old man who allegedly made death threats against a woman on social media and hurled insults at police officers. The man was arrested after posting videos on Facebook that contained explicit threats and derogatory comments directed at law enforcement.

In the videos, the man can be heard making aggressive statements, including threats of violence against a specific woman and disparaging remarks about the Romanian Police and Gendarmerie. He accused the police of inaction and issued direct threats, stating his intention to confront the woman at her residence. The posts were made over a period spanning from September 2025 to June 2026.

Investigators from Sector 6 Criminal Investigation Service acted ex officio after identifying the threatening online material. The man faces charges for making threats. Police have gathered evidence, including video recordings and photographs of the victim, to support the case. He has been detained for 24 hours as the investigation continues.
