More than 800 Guinness beer kegs stolen from UK depot using two trucks

More than 800 kegs of Guinness were stolen from a depot in Runcorn after thieves took two trailers in separate incidents.

Cheshire Police said about 800 kegs, valued at approximately €134,000, were taken on Monday from the Whitehouse industrial estate on Aston Lane. One loaded trailer disappeared at about 7:45 p.m., followed by a second at around 9:30 p.m.

Each keg held roughly 88 pints and was destined for pubs. Police said one truck was seen heading toward the Mersey Gateway bridge, while the other travelled toward Rainhill and Watkinson Way.

Both vehicles were driven by men. Police described the first driver as white, with a short beard and wearing a beanie. The second driver was believed to have been wearing a cap. The stolen trailers were marked with the logistics company GXO’s branding and had unique numbers on their rear doors. Police listed the numbers as DL736 or DL542.

The total value of the stolen goods, including the trailers and Guinness, was estimated at about €239,000. Police had not located the thieves.
