Man arrested for allegedly assaulting food delivery rider in Malaysia

Malaysian police have apprehended a man in his 30s in connection with an alleged assault on a food delivery rider in Kelana Jaya.

The incident reportedly took place early Wednesday morning. The victim, identified as a delivery rider known as Man, was attempting to deliver an order from a fast-food restaurant located at a petrol station in SS6, Kelana Jaya. He was scheduled to deliver to a premises in Taman Rasa Sayang around 5:30 a.m.

I called the customer, but he did not answer my questions. He just kept asking if I had reached the bottom yet before hanging up.

According to Man, upon arriving at the location, he was unable to find the specific address. He attempted to contact the customer for clarification but claimed the customer was unhelpful and evasive, only repeatedly asking if he had reached the bottom before abruptly ending the call. When Man called again, the customer allegedly became angry, questioning why he was waiting at the end of a row of shops in a dimly lit area where he couldn't see properly.

The suspect was detained to aid in the investigation and has been remanded for three days starting Thursday. The case is being investigated under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and Section 427 (mischief causing damage to property) of the Penal Code.
