Man arrested for public indecency at Taipei Main Station twice in one day

A 41-year-old Filipino man caused a disturbance at Taipei Main Station on two separate occasions on the same day, leading to his arrest and hospitalization.

In the morning, the man, identified by the sound of his name as Jaime, was apprehended by railway police for causing a loud disturbance and removing his shirt. Officers initially restrained him for his own protection and that of others.

However, after being released, Jaime returned to the station in the afternoon. This time, he stripped off all his clothes and wandered around the concourse, causing distress to passersby. Police were called again and subdued him before taking him to National Taiwan University Hospital for observation and treatment.

The railway police stated that public indecency is a crime in Taiwan, punishable by up to one year in prison or a fine. They have increased patrols in the station area following the incidents.
