Man arrested in Argentina for threatening President Milei on social media

Argentine authorities have arrested a man in Quilmes for allegedly making death threats against President Javier Milei on social media. The suspect, who reportedly presented himself online as "the hitman of the Kirchnerists," was apprehended at his home following an investigation by the Federal Police.

The arrest was confirmed by Security Minister Alejandra Monteoliva, who stated that a "homemade weapon" was discovered during the police raid on the man's residence. "Now he will face the full force of the law and order," Monteoliva declared on X. "Let it be clear: Argentina has no place for those who seek to intimidate or spread fear. They do it, they pay for it."

The investigation reportedly involved digital analysis and cyber-patrolling after the suspect published a video on TikTok. This digital tracking allowed the Federal Police to locate the man's home in Quilmes. The operation was authorized by Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 7, presided over by Judge María Servini, with the involvement of Secretariat No. 13 of Pablo Lemos.
