Man arrested in Bogotá accused of sexual abuse against a minor

Authorities in northern Bogotá, Colombia, have arrested a man suspected of sexually abusing a minor. The incident occurred in the Usaquén locality, and the suspect is now in police custody.

The community played a crucial role in the apprehension, alerting the Metropolitan Police after witnessing alleged abusive acts involving an adult and a child on a building's balcony. "The community alerted the Metropolitan Police to an adult having abusive acts with a child in a building in the area. Immediately the Police... responded to the location," stated César Restrepo, the capital's Security Secretary, via social media.

The child was rescued and taken to a medical center for evaluation and comprehensive protection. Initial reports suggest that at least three minors may be involved, and the alleged aggressor is reportedly a foreign national. The Attorney General's Office has requested immediate intervention from various child welfare and immigration agencies to clarify the situation and ensure the rights of the minors are restored.
