Man arrested in Herceg Novi for allegedly assaulting Serbian tourist whose room he rented

Herceg Novi police have arrested a 67-year-old man, identified as D.P., on suspicion of committing indecent assault against a 24-year-old Serbian national. The victim had rented a room in the suspect's apartment.

The arrest followed a report from the tourist, who stated that the assault occurred early Sunday morning in the suspect's apartment. According to the police report, D.P. allegedly approached the victim in the hallway, disrobed, and brandished a weapon while ordering her into her room. He then allegedly sat beside her, initiating unwanted physical contact and kissing her without her consent.

He was deprived of liberty D.P. (67) from Herceg Novi on suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of indecent assault to the detriment of a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, aged 24, while a criminal complaint was also filed against him on suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of illegal possession of weapons and explosives.

During a search of the suspect's apartment, police discovered an illegally possessed rifle. Consequently, D.P. faces additional charges for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. He has been detained pending further investigation and legal proceedings by the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Herceg Novi.

As suspected, D.P. noticed the injured party in the hallway of the apartment, who had previously, on August 10, rented a room in his apartment, and while he was without clothes and holding a weapon in his hands, he ordered her to enter the room and sit on the bed. Then he sat next to her, made unwanted physical contact with her and kissed her on the hands, without her consent.
