Man arrested in Hermosillo for attacking stepdaughter with firearm

Authorities in Hermosillo, Sonora, have arrested Miguel Eulogio “N,” a 53-year-old man, following a violent incident involving his partner and her children. The Sonora State Attorney General's Office (FGJE) reported that the suspect faces charges including family violence, attempted femicide, and attempted qualified homicide with advantage.

The alleged attacks occurred on August 6 in the Villa Verde neighborhood. According to the investigation, Eulogio “N” first physically assaulted his partner inside their home. He then reportedly fired a weapon at his 14-year-old stepdaughter, causing her injuries, and subsequently attempted to shoot a 16-year-old stepson.

During an initial court hearing, prosecutors presented evidence, leading a Control Judge to order Eulogio “N” to stand trial. He has been placed in preventive detention, and a three-month period for further investigation has been set, concluding on November 8, 2026.

Records indicate that Miguel Eulogio “N” has a prior criminal history. This includes previous charges related to corruption of minors, drug offenses, firearm possession, homicide, and vehicle theft, highlighting a pattern of serious offenses.
