Man arrested in Serbia with 22 kilograms of marijuana found in his vehicle

Authorities in Serbia have apprehended a 43-year-old man in Lazarevac following the discovery of a significant quantity of marijuana in his vehicle. The suspect, identified by the initials D. Đ., was arrested after police found 22 kilograms of the drug, meticulously packaged into 44 individual parcels.

The discovery was made during a police operation, and the seized marijuana represents a substantial amount for street-level distribution. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the details of the arrest and the quantity of drugs found.

D. Đ. has been charged with the criminal offense of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs. He has been taken into custody and will remain detained for up to 48 hours. Following this period, he is expected to be transferred to the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Kraljevo, where he will face formal charges and the next stages of the legal process.

The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by Serbian law enforcement to combat drug-related crime within the country. The successful seizure highlights the police's vigilance in intercepting illicit substances intended for distribution.
