Authorities in California arrested a man carrying a pistol and illegal ammunition near President Donald Trump's golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes, just before the president's scheduled arrival for a fundraising dinner. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jeanine John Taele, was observed on the Trump National Golf Course grounds taking photographs and videos and appearing to monitor security activities.

The arrest occurred on Sunday afternoon. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, Taele was found with a 16-round magazine containing hollow-point ammunition. His vehicle, parked at the golf course, contained a loaded pistol and another loaded magazine with hollow-point ammunition. He faces charges for carrying a concealed firearm and possessing prohibited ammunition.

Following the arrest, federal agents and the LA County Sheriff's Department searched Taele's home in Downey. They discovered an "illegally modified AR platform rifle," a .45 pistol, body armor, high-capacity magazines, numerous bullets, and multiple notebooks containing "concerning statements." The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the U.S. Secret Service, and additional charges may be filed.
