Man caught stealing from tourists at Da Nang's My Khe beach

Authorities in Da Nang, Vietnam, have arrested a man accused of stealing from tourists at the popular My Khe beach. The suspect, Le Quang Cảnh, was apprehended by patrolling officers and local residents on August 13th while attempting to steal money and mobile phones from a tourist's motorcycle.

According to reports, Canh, 34, approached a tourist's motorcycle, used a stolen key to open the storage compartment, and was in the process of taking 800,000 Vietnamese dong when he was caught. During a subsequent search, authorities found over 4 million Vietnamese dong and five mobile phones on his person and vehicle.

Canh reportedly confessed to the thefts, stating he needed money for personal expenses. He is also suspected of committing other thefts in the coastal area of Vo Nguyen Giap street, targeting cash and mobile phones. Police are continuing their investigation into these additional alleged crimes and have urged tourists to remain vigilant and protect their belongings while enjoying the beach.
