Man charged with murder over alleged stabbing south of Brisbane

Police have charged a 47-year-old man with murder after a fatal stabbing occurred in Beenleigh, south of Brisbane, on Tuesday afternoon. The incident unfolded at a residence on Lubach Street around 4:45 p.m. when emergency services responded to reports of an altercation between three individuals.

Authorities allege that the 66-year-old victim was stabbed during the confrontation. Despite attempts by officers to perform CPR, the man was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival at the scene. The accused, identified as a Karalee resident, is scheduled to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

A 43-year-old woman from Beenleigh is currently in hospital receiving treatment and remains under police guard. Investigators expect her to provide assistance as the inquiry progresses. Police have indicated that all three individuals involved in the incident knew each other.

Queensland Ambulance Service reported that a man in his 40s sustained an arm wound and was transported to the hospital. An uninjured woman was also taken to the hospital. The circumstances leading to the altercation and the precise roles of each individual are still under investigation.
