Man Confesses to Four Arson Incidents in Agrinio Region

Authorities in Agrinio, Greece, have arrested a 50-year-old man suspected of intentionally setting four fires in the Paravola region. The suspect is accused of serial arson, with the most recent incident occurring on Sunday, June 28.

The fire on Sunday broke out in a rural area around 2:27 PM, destroying approximately 4 acres of land. Following the incident, investigators from the Aetoloacarnania Arson Crimes Investigation Unit gathered crucial evidence that led to the man's identification and arrest.

During the preliminary investigation, the 50-year-old reportedly confessed to starting three previous fires in the same area earlier in June, specifically on the 6th, 20th, and again on the 28th. These confessions significantly strengthened the case against him.

The successful resolution of this case is attributed to the systematic investigation of consecutive arson incidents in the region by the Aetoloacarnania Arson Crimes Investigation Unit. A case file has been compiled against the arrested man for intentional arson committed repeatedly, and he is expected to face the competent judicial authorities.
