Man Dies After Brutal Beating in Vienna Park

A man has died in Vienna after a brutal assault in a park. Police believe the victim and his female companion were attacked by two individuals riding e-scooters in the Donaustadt district.

The couple was reportedly accosted by the e-scooter riders. The male victim was allegedly punched multiple times in the face by one of the assailants. The attacker then reportedly assaulted the woman and demanded cash, threatening further violence before the suspects fled.

Bystanders heard the woman's cries for help and alerted emergency services. Responding officers found the man lying motionless in the grass. Initial attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, but he was stabilized and taken to a hospital with severe head injuries. Authorities later confirmed his death.

Investigators are examining the circumstances of the attack. It remains unclear if the victims knew their assailants. The 33-year-old woman is considered the primary witness and has been interviewed by police.
