Man found dead in workplace toilet; investigation launched

An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man's body in the workplace toilet. Yaşar Gönültaş, 50, a forklift driver at the Ak Refrakter firm in Ereğli, was found unresponsive in the facility's restroom during his lunch break.

The grim discovery was made by a colleague who found Gönültaş lying motionless. He was promptly transported by a private ambulance to a local hospital. Medical personnel confirmed that his heart had stopped.

It was reported that Gönültaş had diabetes. Initial examinations of his body revealed no signs of assault or external injuries. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was administered at the scene and continued en route to the hospital and upon arrival.

Despite the life-saving efforts, Gönültaş could not be revived and was pronounced dead. His body was subsequently moved to the morgue at Ereğli State Hospital. The precise cause of his death is pending the results of an autopsy.
