Man from suspected drug network sentenced to eight years in prison

Holbæk, Denmark – A 25-year-old man has admitted in court to his role in distributing significant quantities of narcotics, confessing to passing on around 3.6 kilograms of cocaine and 6.1 kilograms of ketamine.

The man, identified as Shaun Refslund Boysen, was sentenced to eight years in prison following a swift judgment at the Court of Holbæk on Tuesday. He was arrested on June 9 as part of a police operation targeting a suspected drug network operating in western Zealand.

Boysen's confession and the thorough investigation that preceded the arrests enabled the immediate sentencing. Prosecutors noted that the use of encrypted messaging services like Signal for drug sales has led to a significant toughening of penalties. Due to his confession, Boysen received a sentence reduction of approximately 20 percent. Police confirmed that investigations into the other nine individuals arrested in connection with the network are continuing.
