Man gets six years for weapons cache with ten pistols

A 21-year-old man, Christian Tømmerby Nielsen, has been sentenced to six years in prison by the Court in Roskilde for possessing what the court described as a weapons cache. The discovery was made in October 2024 when police searched a residence on Køgevej in Ringsted.

During the search, authorities found seven gas and signal pistols. One of these had been modified to function as a real firearm. Additionally, police located three other pistols of various calibers, two of which were operational, along with ammunition. Mid- and West Zealand Police announced the sentence in a press release.

Nielsen has appealed the verdict to the high court. He was also convicted for jointly possessing a pistol with a 20-year-old woman. This weapon was found in a backpack near the residence on Køgevej in December 2024.

The 20-year-old woman, who is protected by a name suppression order, received a sentence of two years and three months in prison, with six months to be served. She is currently considering whether to appeal her sentence.
