Man in critical condition after third vehicle hit him at scene of earlier two-car crash

A man is in critical condition after sustaining serious injuries in a multi-vehicle collision in County Meath. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday morning near Julianstown, along the R132 southbound route towards Dublin.

The initial crash occurred around 2:06 a.m. when one vehicle collided with the rear of another. The drivers of these two cars, both men in their 50s, were unharmed. The vehicles were pulled over to the side of the road.

Approximately ten minutes later, a third vehicle struck one of the stationary cars. A man who had been standing behind the vehicle sustained critical injuries and was transported to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda. The driver of the third vehicle, a man in his 40s, was uninjured.

Gardaí have preserved the scene for technical examination and are requesting assistance from the public. They are seeking witnesses or individuals with relevant footage who were in the vicinity between 1:20 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. on Saturday morning.
