Man in Kragujevac found with axe, pistol, knife; detained

Authorities in Kragujevac, Serbia, have detained a 19-year-old man after discovering a cache of potential weapons and dangerous items. The individual, identified by the initials V.P., was stopped by police on Trg vojvode Radomira Putnika.

During a search, officers found a hatchet, a knife with an 11.5-centimeter blade, and a gas-start pistol, along with other objects deemed suitable for attack and inflicting injuries. The police's attention was drawn to V.P. due to his behavior, which aroused suspicion.

Consequently, V.P. has been taken into custody for up to 24 hours. He will face a misdemeanor charge related to the Law on Weapons and Ammunition. The found gas-start pistol is slated for expert analysis to determine its functionality and whether it constitutes evidence of other offenses.

The relevant public prosecutor's office has been informed of the incident. Reports indicate the man was apprehended near a stand belonging to the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in the city center.
