Man in Vilnius targeted by three robbers, loses 1,700 euros

A man in Vilnius became the target of a robbery on the evening of June 27, losing valuables worth an estimated 1,700 euros.

The incident occurred around 9:35 p.m. near an apartment building on Tuskulėnų Street. According to police reports, three individuals attacked the man, born in 1988, and forcibly took his handbag. The stolen items included a Samsung S20+ mobile phone, a wallet containing 700 euros, and car keys for a BMW.

Following the attack, law enforcement initiated a pre-trial investigation. The case is being handled under Article 180, Part 1 of the Lithuanian Criminal Code, which defines plunder. This offense carries potential penalties ranging from restriction of liberty to arrest or imprisonment for up to six years.

The description of plunder under Lithuanian law involves the appropriation of another's property through physical violence, the threat of immediate violence, or by otherwise preventing the victim from resisting.
