Man Injured in Fire Affecting Three Homes in Jelutong

A fire in Jelutong, Penang, has left a 54-year-old man with first-degree burns on his hands after engulfing three terrace houses. The incident occurred on a Tuesday afternoon in Taman Green Lane, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

The victim, who resided in one of the affected homes, managed to escape the blaze before firefighters reached the scene. He received initial treatment from the Sungai Ara Community Ambulance and is reported to be in stable condition. His injuries were confined to his hands.

One of the three houses that caught fire suffered 80 percent destruction, while the other two houses sustained damage of about five percent.

Firefighters from the Jalan Perak Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched immediately, supported by nearby stations. Upon arrival, they found one of the terrace houses severely damaged, with approximately 80% destruction. Two other houses suffered around five percent damage.

In addition to the residential structures, a Toyota Lite Ace van parked at the location was also significantly impacted by the fire, sustaining about 80% damage. The operation to extinguish the flames concluded around 5:42 PM, and the scene was handed over to the Fire Investigation Unit for further examination.
