Man Killed, Another Injured in Shooting in Mexico City's Iztapalapa

A violent incident in Mexico City's Iztapalapa borough has resulted in the death of a 49-year-old man and injuries to a 29-year-old man. The shooting occurred on Calle 11 de Agosto, near Batalla de Silao, in the Leyes de Reforma neighborhood.

According to initial reports, the younger man arrived at the location seeking assistance from his former father-in-law. He had reportedly been shot in the leg during an earlier altercation with another individual. As the 49-year-old man was getting into a vehicle to help, a suspect on a motorcycle approached and allegedly fired a shot, fatally wounding him.

Emergency services were not immediately involved as the injured man transported himself to a hospital. Officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) cordoned off the crime scene and have begun reviewing surveillance camera footage from the area. The goal is to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for the attack.

Authorities are analyzing the available video evidence to piece together the events and locate the suspect. The investigation is ongoing as police work to understand the motive and circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
