Man permanently banned from driving after stealing inspector's body camera and tickets

A 32-year-old man faces a lifetime driving ban in Buenos Aires province after violently resisting a traffic inspection and stealing official equipment. The incident occurred at the Hudson toll booth on the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway during a routine control operation.

According to the Ministry of Transportation, the man's van was stopped for lacking a valid vehicle inspection (VTV). When the inspector began to issue a ticket and informed the driver that his license would be temporarily confiscated, the man reacted aggressively. He snatched the official ticket booklet and then forcibly took the body camera from the inspector's uniform before fleeing the scene at high speed.

The entire event was captured by the inspector's body camera. The man had attempted to discard the camera, but it was later recovered using its geolocation data. The VTV for his vehicle had expired in May.

The Ministry of Transportation has filed a complaint and provided all evidence to the judiciary. In addition to the legal proceedings, the Subsecretariat of Road Safety Policy has imposed the permanent driving ban due to the severity of the man's actions and the danger he posed to the officers and other road users.

Buenos Aires Minister of Transportation, Martín Marinucci, stated that attacks on workers performing their duties will not be tolerated. He emphasized that traffic controls are in place to protect lives and ensure safe circulation.
