Man releases new video challenging police account of heat incident

Eric Mišić, a 27-year-old from Karlovac, has released a new video presenting his version of events following an incident at the Karlovac Police Administration. Mišić claims that citizens were unfairly made to wait outside the building during high temperatures, contradicting the police's statement that the air conditioning system was malfunctioning and that people chose to wait outside.

Mišić visited the police station on August 6 with his mother to collect her driver's license and ID. He states that approximately 30 people, including children and the elderly, were waiting outside. After being told to go outside by a staff member, Mišić observed that the heat was affecting his mother and an elderly woman. He returned inside to question why citizens had to wait in the heat, reportedly being told the air conditioning was not working.

In his new video, Mišić disputes this claim, asserting that the air conditioning was functioning properly and that the temperature inside was significantly lower than outside. He recounts his argument with a supervisor, who allegedly stated the indoor temperature was 27 degrees Celsius while it was 40 degrees outside. Mišić also alleges that a staff member suggested children could "go cool off at Konzum" (a supermarket chain) when he raised concerns about their well-being.

Mišić began recording the incident on his phone, after which, he says, a supervisor told him recording was not allowed and that the police would be called. Police officers arrived shortly after, and Mišić praised their professionalism and courteousness. He emphasized that his actions are not an attack on the police but a critique of the conduct of counter staff.
