Man rides motorcycle into Taichung department store, attempts to shop

A bizarre incident unfolded at a Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store in Taichung, Taiwan, when a man rode his motorcycle directly into the ground floor lobby. The man, described as a "crazy old man" (超狂阿北), caused bewilderment among shoppers and staff as he slowly navigated the store, appearing to look for something.

Security personnel immediately approached the man, who then exited the store with his motorcycle. However, the situation took another turn when he parked his bike outside and reportedly intended to re-enter the store on foot to shop. He reportedly left the scene hastily after learning that police were on their way.

Police reviewed surveillance footage and identified the man as a Mr. Lin, in his 50s. He faces potential charges under Article 68 of the Social Order Maintenance Act, which covers disturbances in public places. Authorities plan to summon him for questioning to understand his motives.

The incident, which occurred on the evening of the 30th, did not result in any injuries or property damage. However, it has sparked widespread discussion online, with videos of the man's unusual shopping trip circulating on social media.
