Man shot dead in Plaza Garibaldi; four arrested

A man was fatally shot outside a bar in the Plaza Garibaldi area of Mexico City early Saturday morning, prompting a swift response from the capital's police. The victim was reportedly attacked directly outside the establishment before seeking refuge inside, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Following the incident, law enforcement initiated an investigation, utilizing surveillance footage from the C2 Centro Histórico command center. The analysis of the video led officers to identify suspects who fled the scene in a gray car. The suspects later returned to the area, accompanied by a blue van and an individual on a scooter.

During a subsequent stop and search of the individuals, police discovered approximately 1.5 kilograms of marijuana and a firearm. The four suspects apprehended have been presented to a public prosecutor, who will determine their legal status. Plaza Garibaldi is currently hosting a Fan Fest for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
