Man Smashes Mercedes With Wrench in Taitung After Drunken Dispute

A man in Taitung, Taiwan, was captured on video smashing the windshield of a Mercedes-Benz with a large wrench late at night, an act that initially appeared to be a significant public disturbance. The incident occurred on Changsha Street, where the man was seen shouting insults before attacking the vehicle.

Police investigations revealed the man was involved in a verbal altercation with friends after a night of drinking. Feeling disrespected, he located the Mercedes-Benz, which belonged to one of the friends, parked near his residence and proceeded to damage it with the wrench before calmly walking away.

Authorities clarified that the car owner and the man who committed the vandalism do not live at the immediate scene. Furthermore, residents who gathered to watch were not part of the dispute itself. The man has since been identified and will be referred to the prosecutor's office on charges of property damage. The incident was attributed to a simple dispute fueled by alcohol.
