Man suffers electric shock after climbing on train wagon in Vienna

A 32-year-old man is in a life-threatening condition in intensive care after climbing onto a stationary train wagon and receiving a severe electric shock. The incident occurred on Sunday morning near the Kaiserebersdorf train station in Vienna's Simmering district.

Emergency services responded to the scene, and rail traffic was temporarily halted. Witnesses provided first aid until rescue teams arrived. Police reported that the man had apparently climbed onto an parked wagon, where he came into contact with overhead power lines.

The victim suffered a significant head injury and burns to his body and clothing. The severity of his condition led to him being placed in intensive care at a Vienna hospital. Authorities recovered parts of the man's jacket from the overhead power line section, indicating the point of contact.

The incident, which happened around 9:00 AM, required the Vienna Professional Fire Brigade to extricate the man from the tracks.
