Man threatens woman, then police, and damages patrol car in Ivanić-Grad

A dramatic police intervention in Ivanić-Grad led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man who had threatened a 56-year-old woman with a sharp object. The situation intensified upon the arrival of law enforcement officers, who were also subjected to threats and had a police vehicle damaged.

The incident began around 0:10 AM on August 14, when police responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Upon entering the house, officers escorted the 56-year-old woman to safety. However, the 28-year-old suspect continued to escalate the situation, verbally threatening the officers before advancing towards them with the sharp object.

Despite police orders to stop, the man pursued the officers to their patrol car. He then kicked the vehicle, causing damage to the driver's side door. In a swift response, officers managed to disarm and apprehend the suspect.

During the arrest, it was determined that the 28-year-old man had a blood alcohol content of 2.46 permille. He is currently under criminal investigation for coercion against a public official and property damage. The suspect was taken to the police station for further processing.
