Manas Airport to plant new trees and lawns post-reconstruction

Manas International Airport, Kyrgyzstan's main air hub located near Bishkek, is set to undergo a significant greening initiative. Following the completion of major reconstruction projects, the airport authority plans to plant new trees and establish lawns throughout its vicinity. This beautification effort is slated to commence in the autumn, with specific planting activities scheduled to begin in November.

Altinbek Mambetov, Director of Infrastructure and Regional Development at "Kyrgyzstan Airports" OJSC, confirmed the plans. He stated that the additional landscaping will be carried out along the newly constructed roads as part of the project. Mambetov expressed his intention to initiate these greening efforts starting in November, envisioning the area around the new road to be fully covered in greenery by next year.

Manasbek Samidinov, Chairman of the Board of "Kyrgyzstan Airports" OJSC, highlighted that the airport management made considerable efforts to preserve existing trees during the extensive reconstruction phase. He assured that all areas along the roadside where soil has been laid will be landscaped with lawns and young trees. Samidinov also noted that large tree plantings are not planned for the immediate future due to the current summer heat, indicating that the primary greening activities will take place during the cooler autumn months.
