Mango founder's fatal excursion linked to extreme 'father's death' therapy

A new twist has emerged in the investigation into the fatal fall of Mango clothing founder Isak Andic, with a key witness revealing details about an extreme therapy session.

An interpreter, who occasionally worked with family therapist Julia Lüderwaldt, told Catalan police that the therapist directed her to find a dangerous mountain path for a session with Jonathan Andic and his father. The interpreter claims the goal was to create an extreme situation, using the metaphor of the 'death of the father' to symbolize emancipation from paternal influence.

According to Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, the interpreter voluntarily came forward after more than a year, fearing her involvement in preparing the excursion could be seen as a cover-up. She provided police with text messages and audio files exchanged with Lüderwaldt, which she says reconstruct her role in the events leading up to Isak Andic's death in December 2024.

The interpreter stated that Lüderwaldt specifically requested a challenging route, even suggesting Jonathan should stand at the edge of a precipice to facilitate this psychological process. This account reportedly contradicts Jonathan Andic's previous statements to investigators.
