Manivanan Focuses on Resolving Water Supply, Infrastructure Issues

Water supply and infrastructure upgrades in the Jeram Padang state constituency are the primary focus for Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate G. Manivanan. The 51-year-old candidate emphasized the need for better basic facilities for the area's residents.

Manivanan stated that addressing these issues is a key part of his manifesto, which he aims to implement in cooperation with the state and federal governments. His priorities include upgrading damaged roads, ensuring adequate clean water supply, reinforcing the electrical system, and expanding high-speed internet access. He highlighted that residents in areas like Sungai Raya have faced water supply disruptions for four to five days, with other parts of Jeram Padang experiencing low pressure and unstable supply, significantly impacting daily life.

"This situation cannot be allowed to continue," Manivanan said during a visit with PH Communications Director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil in Felda Palong 2. He plans to bring these issues to the attention of relevant agencies and work with the government to expedite comprehensive solutions for stable, quality water supply.

Additionally, Manivanan intends to improve public amenities such as community halls, recreational parks, sports facilities, drainage systems, and streetlights based on local needs. He stressed the importance of balanced development for all residents, including those in Felda, Felcra, resettlement estates, housing areas, and indigenous villages. As part of the "Kerajaan Madani" (Madani Government) commitment, several pipe replacement projects have been approved under the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation to tackle water supply problems in Jeram Padang. These include replacing pipes from the Kuala Jelai Water Treatment Plant to Rompin (15 km), pipes along the Felda Palong 1 Reservoir outlet (4 km), and pipes on Jalan Kesuma, Felda Palong 1 (1.3 km), which are currently in the design phase. Proposed pipe connections under the Ministry of Rural Development are also planned for Kampung Sungai Kelebang, Kampung Sungai Raya, Kampung Sungai Temarom, Kampung Lubuk Temenggalan, and Kampung Jeram Padang.
