Marcola has admitted to receiving money from businesswoman and lobbyist Roberta Luchsinger, who reportedly offered services to "Careca do INSS," an individual implicated in fraud schemes related to Brazil's National Social Security Institute (INSS).

The admission follows weeks of rumors in Brasília about Marcola being under federal police scrutiny, based on data obtained from Luchsinger's communications. His abrupt dismissal from the presidential office on July 21, shortly after these rumors emerged, has intensified scrutiny. Questions are now being raised about whether President Lula was informed about the ongoing federal police investigations, led by Director Andrei Rodrigues, whose frequent meetings and travels with the president are noted.

These developments gain urgency as Luchsinger is reportedly a friend of Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, the president's son. Lulinha himself is under investigation for alleged influence peddling, accused of facilitating access to the presidential palace for "Careca do INSS." Given Marcola's position as chief of staff, with significant access to President Lula, including the use of the president's phone, the situation places Lula under increased questioning regarding potential knowledge or involvement.
