Marcus Knuth: Politicians Must Be Fully Transparent About Afghanistan Mission

Marcus Knuth, a Member of Parliament for the Moderates, has voiced strong support for a citizen's initiative demanding an end to anonymization in the investigation into Denmark's involvement in Afghanistan. The initiative has surpassed 50,000 signatures, triggering a debate in the Danish Parliament.

Knuth, a veteran himself, stated that many veterans are willing to stand by their actions in Afghanistan, both the successes and the failures. He believes that the politicians who made the decisions regarding the mission owe it to the veterans to be completely open about the circumstances and outcomes.

"The most difficult decisions are when we have to vote on sending Danish soldiers to war," Knuth remarked, emphasizing the gravity of such political choices. He argues that transparency is crucial for honoring the service and sacrifices of those who served in Afghanistan.
